Print Bar Code and RFID Labels Using XML

JULY 12, 2007

Brunswick, Ohio - Tharo Systems, Inc. provides an easy solution for printing bar code and RFID labels using XML (Extensible Markup Language) enabled enterprise systems. EASYLABEL® 5.5 Platinum's XML Monitor will 'watch' a file directory or TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) port and will automatically print your RFID or bar code labels when a compatible XML file is received. This feature provides a direct connection to any application capable of generating a properly formatted XML file. It will make printing your RFID or bar code labels from your supply chain or manufacturing software seamless.

The XML Generator enables you to generate XML from a given format file(s). The Generator prompts for the format(s), the number of labels to print, which printer to use, and the variable data used to populate the fields on the format. The XML file that results from the Generator can be used as a template that can be uploaded to and populated from within an XML enabled application. The .Net framework and Windows 2000 or Windows XP is required to use the XML Generator.

This solution is made possible through the use of EASYLABEL's XML Generator and XML Monitor and does not require special XML enabled printers. You will be able to design label formats using EASYLABEL's label design tools and then populate and print them by sending XML files to a monitored folder or TCP/IP port.

A more detailed explanation of these features can be found in this Whitepaper: http://www.tharo.com/bar_codes_and_rfid_using_xml.pdf

Tharo Systems, Inc. is pleased to introduce the Tharo PA1200cw Corner Wrap Label Printer/Applicator.

This new multi-function Printer/Applicator can print and apply a label to 2 adjacent product surfaces - front and side or front and top.

The PA1200cw was designed, engineered and built by Tharo Systems and is currently available using the Tharo H-Series printers with print resolutions of 203 or 300 dpi.

After a label is printed, it is stripped from the liner and held by suction on the tamp applicator pad.  The tamp pad is mounted on a swing arm that tamps the label to the front surface of the carton then a roller completes the procedure by wrapping the label around the corner of the carton.

The PA1200cw has a print width of up to 4” wide and a print length of up to 13” long.  It features all metal construction and is made to last with time-tested components.
